The fastest skiers of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Jasna can once again look forward to beautiful trophies crafted by artist Gordana Glass. She has been working on their preparation for several months.
"We started with the drawing, then moved on to selecting materials, which we wanted to align with the new visual identity of the entire event this year. So, we chose new materials. The process of melting, assembling, every single flower must be prepared, every petal cut, assembled by hand, laid on the glass, melted, ground, engraved. Simply put, I have a lot to do until January. We want each trophy to have a different color, so each piece will be an original. I will create the works so that I am identified with them, satisfied, so I can put them in the box and sign them," revealed Gordana Glass. The presentation of the trophies for the best female skiers in Jasna will take place in December under Chopok.
The winning trophies from the previous Alpine Skiing World Cup in Jasna, created by Gordana Glass, are still on display at the Galeria Thermal hotel in Besenova. Skiers Petra Vlhova and Martina Dubovska attended the vernissage before the start of the summer season, where, along with the exhibition curator Lubica Skusilova, they symbolically wished the artist a lot of inspiration in creating trophies for the best female skiers of the Alpine Skiing World Cup in Jasna, which will take place in January 2024.
