(JASNÁ, January 11, 2024) - The Ski World Cup in Jasna is rapidly approaching, scheduled to take place next week (giant slalom on Saturday, January 20, and slalom on Sunday). Today's inspection of the racing track by FIS yielded excellent results.
"The track is perfectly prepared. If I were a teacher, I would call the parents to praise the children for doing their homework perfectly. The track is indeed long, but there is a sufficient amount of snow on every section. It is truly a pleasant surprise," revealed FIS Inspector Wojciech Gajewski to reporters, adding, "I can state that I have absolutely no doubt about holding the races in Jasna. These could be the best World Cup races of the season."
Organizers also did not hide their satisfaction. "The tracks are prepared so that we can achieve the ideal hardness. Everything is going according to plan," disclosed the head of the competition track, Maroš Kupčo. The good news from the track inspection results was also reported by the sports director of the Jasna races, Jana Palovičová, who explained, "We expected this excellent result because we prepared for it with quality. The snow depth and measurements are in order, and we still have track injection ahead. Training is scheduled for the weekend, followed by the competition in two days." The Ski World Cup in Jasna will be attended by skiers from 26 countries during the upcoming January weekend.
